Named for a Daughter, Built from a Lockdown
Sam Hatherley spent 20 years in hospitality before the pandemic gave him something unexpected: time. During Melbourne's lockdowns, he stepped back from the industry, cooked for his family, and started thinking about the kind of place Box Hill was missing.
The result is Una Una, named after his daughter, opened as a café and quietly grown into something more. Sam brought the skills from his time at Neil Perry's Rosetta Ristorante to a four-table dinner service on Friday and Saturday nights.
Two Kinds of Good
The morning brings specialty coffee and freshly made focaccias. Friday and Saturday evenings bring a short, considered dinner menu and cocktails worth coming back for. Same address, different pace.

What We're Known For
A handful of the things guests keep coming back for. The full menu changes with the seasons.

Roasted Duck Breast
Slow-roasted until it gives way at the touch of a fork, served with a jus that takes the whole table by surprise.

Italian Whipped Cream Coffee
Poured over ice from a Boston shaker, finished with Italian cream that dissolves in slow ribbons.
- 03
Lamb Katsu Cutlets
Crumbed and fried, served with a sauce that balances heat and sweetness in a way that stays with you.
- 04
Focaccia of the Day
Made fresh each morning with fillings that change and flavours that don't follow the usual rules.

Chargrilled Calamari
Served over a fennel salad with chilli sauce, clean and bright with enough heat to make you pay attention.
- 06

With salt and vinegar crisps that cut through the richness and make each bite its own conversation.
